I Love Teaching Third Grade Because Kids Are So Creative!

What Courtney loves about teaching third grade: “I love teaching third grade for two reasons. The first reason is they are so creative. In my classroom I only teach math and science, so we do a lot of STEM activities for science, and then we do a lot of project-based learning and hands-on things, and their creativity always amazes me. The second reason I love teaching third grade is that they're a little bit more independent and they can finally start to understand some of my sarcasm! It’s easier to build relationships when they’re a little bit older and understand why you're making jokes.” Do you agree? I Love Teaching First Grade Because Reading Fluency Takes Flight!

What Catherine loves about teaching first grade: “One of the reasons I really like teaching first grade is the huge amount of reading growth that happens with this age group. It’s so fun to watch a once-struggling reader at the beginning of the year become fluent and confidently read a text by the end. And it’s so cool to watch when it all finally comes together for them.” Do you agree? Carson Dellosa LOVES first grade teachers for their impact on students' literacy confidence! I Love Teaching Kindergarten Because It Makes Every Day Brighter!

What Casey loves about teaching kindergarten: “There are so many things. First, when you work with 5- and 6-year-olds, you're always guaranteed one good laugh a day. They are so funny and tell the funniest stories, that even on your worst day they can make you smile! I also love witnessing the transformation that each child makes from the beginning of the year until the end. Some kids enter not knowing how to write their name or recognize letters, but by June, they’re reading and writing. It’s honestly the most amazing thing in the world to witness that change in each child. And most importantly, as kindergarten teachers, we have tremendous responsibility because we set the tone for how a child feels about school. When we get them to love coming to school, that’s an amazing thing, and we hope that that attitude stays with them for their educational years to come!” Do you agree? Carson Dellosa LOVES kindergarten teachers for their awesome ability to spark excitement for school and learning. Thank you for sharing your light to help your students shine bright! I Love Teaching Seventh Grade Because Of The Higher Level Learning!

What Stephanie loves about teaching seventh grade: “The reason that I absolutely love teaching middle schoolers is that I'm able to connect with my students in such a cool and fun way. They are turning into young adults with these amazing personalities; they're all coming into their own. There is just so much fun and witty banter in the classroom, but there’s also such a real level of learning that occurs in middle school. Kids are starting to make those amazing connections. They take the material that you teach them home, and the next day they have these creative ideas and things to share about what you taught the day before. It is just so cool to see how they process the information, and the conversations that happen in the classroom are just higher level. It is such a rewarding experience to see them come into their own and develop into these adults that are just hungry for knowledge. I just absolutely love it—sarcasm and all! Middle school is totally for me!” Do you agree? Carson Dellosa loves seventh grade teachers for their amazing ability to guide young learners as they become young adults with a hunger for more learning! I Love Teaching First Grade Because I Get To Think Like A Kid!

What Maleah loves about teaching first grade: “What I love about being a first grade teacher is every day I have such an incredible opportunity to present learning in a fun and exciting way. The way that I do this in my classroom that’s very successful, is by incorporating a lot of songs and dances into my routines that helps us understand a concept. Another reason why I love teaching first grade is: every day I come to school, the love that I give to my students is reciprocated—and that really is the best feeling in the world.” Do you agree? Carson Dellosa LOVES first grade teachers for the amazing ability to instill kindness and a joy of learning in their students every day. I Love Teaching Fourth Grade Because I Get To Inspire Better Writers!

What Heather loves about teaching fourth grade: “I love the fact that I’m pushing them in their writing more than ever before. First grade is kind of known for reading and making them readers—fourth grade I love because I’m making them writers. I have never seen such gains in a grade as I do in fourth grade. I love their personality that comes out in their writing. I love their sense of humor. I love their style. It’s like they’re just barely starting to find themselves and who they are, before they get older and become too sassy. I love that I can be silly with them and laugh, and joke. They are my people.” Do you agree? Carson Dellosa loves fourth grade teachers for their amazing efforts at inspiring the next generation of writers. I Love Teaching Second Grade Because It's Magical!

What Lauren loves about teaching second grade: “The best thing about second graders is just the magic of their age. They’re inquisitive, they are growing in maturity and love school, they’re easy to engage, and they’re just so much fun. When you make them smile, they will make you smile too. It’s such a fun age. I love teaching second grade.” Do you agree? Carson Dellosa loves second grade teachers for their ability to make learning magical for budding learners! I Love Teaching Special Education Because Every Day Is A New Adventure!

Why Caitlin loves teaching special education: "Every day is different—no two days are the same! Each day I come in, what I did last year that day is not the same this year on this day. I Love Teaching Fifth Grade Because It Keeps Me On My Toes!

What Lindsey loves about teaching fifth grade: “Really, what’s not to love about teaching fifth grade?! I get to work with awesome little people. That 10- to 12-year-old age group is super fun. They're not quite little kids, but not quite that preteen yet. I love building up their self-esteem. I love the curriculum: social studies, science, the Revolutionary War, mean really, come on people! I love the novels we get to read, and the projects that I get to use. Plus, they say the darndest things! Their personalities?! They keep me on my toes all the time! The grading isn't my favorite, but fifth grade is where it’s at!” Do you agree? I Love Teaching Sixth Grade Because I Get To Join My Students' Journeys!

What Liz loves about teaching sixth grade: “People tell me every day that I’m nuts for wanting to teach in the middle school, but the truth is, you’ll never get me out of the middle school setting! I absolutely love teaching sixth grade because they are honest, they are creative, they are hilarious. They start off the year and end the year as preteens, and I love getting to be a part of their journey. The middle school years are so important and I’ve always had fantastic memories of my own middle school years. So, I love being a part of that experience for my students.” Do you agree? I Love Teaching Kindergarten Because There's Never A Dull Moment!

What Kristina loves about teaching kindergarten: “Kindergarten is such a special time in a child’s life. They learn so much in just one short year. It amazes me to see the growth and progress of each child from the beginning of the year to the end. Kindergarten is the year of lightbulb moments. There are so many moments where you just see that lightbulb go off in their head when they learn something new. My favorite part of the year is when a student reads a sentence for the very first time. They don’t even realize that they’ve read a sentence until you tell them! Their smile is so big and you can tell that they’re so proud of themselves. Teaching kindergarten is not just ABCs, sight words, and shapes—I love that I get to be their first teacher and teach them how to be a student in a classroom. I love how little and sweet they are and how independent they become. Their sense of humor and the silly things they say make me smile. I can’t imagine teaching a grade other than kindergarten and loving it as much as I love kindergarten!” Do you agree?
