What Heather loves about teaching fourth grade: “I love the fact that I’m pushing them in their writing more than ever before. First grade is kind of known for reading and making them readers—fourth grade I love because I’m making them writers. I have never seen such gains in a grade as I do in fourth grade. I love their personality that comes out in their writing. I love their sense of humor. I love their style. It’s like they’re just barely starting to find themselves and who they are, before they get older and become too sassy. I love that I can be silly with them and laugh, and joke.
