As a young manager leading an all-male team, Tara Binn is driven to break stereotypes and inspire the next generation. It shouldn’t be a surprise for a young woman to put on a hardhat, walk into a room full of men, and introduce herself as the manager. But for Tara Binn, it’s quite a common occurrence. She’s been operations manager at Georgia-Pacific’s Eugene, Oregon, plant for the past three years. And she’s not yet 30 years old. But while Binn knows she’s younger than many of her colleagues – all of whom are male, and some of whom report to her – she has made it her mission to break the stereotypes she’s encountered and “inspire the next generation of women,” she said.
