Using Membrane Bio-Reactor (MBR) technology, Hitachi methodology of co-creation in social innovation solutions built a smaller, compact (more than 80% space saving) and transportable sewage treatment plant than the older plant which has been operating for Twenty Five years ago in Saudia City in Jeddah, K.S.A. for Saudi Airlines Real Estate Development (SARED), while managing all aspects of engineering, procurement and construction (EPC). The new facility is capable of recycling 6000 m3 of water per day which is then used to irrigate the Saudia city trees, flowers and sports fields in Jeddah.
